About Postural Basics, Inc.

Hi, I am Joanne Kane. I am a Licensed Physical Therapist with nearly 20 years experience. I have experience working in a variety of settings including over 11 years experience in Home Health Care. I also have a wide range of experience in Acute Rehab as well as Outpatient Physical Therapy.

I have noticed many safety hazards in the home for the aging adult community. I am teaching these courses to provide awareness and information to the general public to decrease risks of falls. I created this course because I am excited to share the vast knowledge I have obtained over the years in this area to point out hazards in the home and raise awareness of different equipment on the market to make things more safe and easier in the home for aging adults.

WHY buy Home Safety Basics?

Imagine if you could feel confident that your aging parents had the appropriate safety measures in their home to help prevent falls and increase their safety.

Do you notice your aging parents are less balanced and worry they may fall?

What if there’s a way to increase their safety and decrease risk of falls in their existing home?

That’s exactly why I created the Home Safety Basics online course. I have been a home care physical therapist for over 11 years and I have noticed many common fall hazards that can be eliminated with knowledge and equipment on the market geared toward home safety. I often hear “that advice was so helpful, it made things so much easier” or “I wish I had known about this sooner.” My goal is to provide this information to the general public for all to benefit from.

Why I created Home Safety Basics:

1) Many aging adults feel they don’t need this information yet; however studies show that decreased balance starts around age 50. Learning how to avoid tripping hazards in the home is a good idea for all.

2) Decreasing fall risks helps aging adults stay in their own home safer.

3) Many people feel they don’t have the money to buy equipment for their home. In this course bundle I will discuss how to obtain some equipment for less money or even for free.

4) It is easier and less expensive to prevent a fall with home safety tips than to recover from a fall!

In this course you can learn the greatest fall hazards in the home for aging adults and how to decrease these fall risks. In doing so you can also decrease your own stress level knowing plans are in place to decrease fall risks for your aging parents or loved ones.

  • I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I took these courses to learn about home safety tips and adaptive equipment for my aging parents. They both live alone and I wanted to make sure they were as safe as possible. I found these courses extremely helpful and would highly recommend them for anyone concerned about their aging parents' home safety and fall prevention. I also highly recommend these courses for active seniors who want to stay safe and independent in their own homes.
